1976 - Mendham 1, Morristown 0 Mendham freshman Steve Walker, who was called up to play varsity only a week before the tournament final and played with a patched up jersey, scored the only goal of the game at 6:46 of the third period. 1977 - Chatham Twp. 4, Chatham Borough 0 The top-seeded Gladiators put the finishing touches on a 22-0 season by beating their crosstown rivals. Striker Glenn Davis had two goals while John Demakos and Tom Sugar also scored in a surprisingly listless affair. Semifinals: Chatham Twp. 3, Morris Knolls 0 Chatham Borough 6, Hanover Park 1
1978 - Chatham Twp. 3, Chatham Borough 0 Civic pride was on the line as crosstown soccer rivals battled again for the championship. Goals by Greg Dennis, John Waraksa and John Demakos provided the difference. It was the last final legendary local coach Otto Haas would be involved in. The Chatham Borough coach who finished with a record of 409-70-58, at that time the record for most scholastic soccer victories in the nation, died in 1979. His teams never won an MCT title. 1979 - Parsippany Hills 2, Morris Knolls 1 No goalie overtime provided its first and only MCT title. Barry Scherr scored on a penalty kick 12 minutes into sudden-death overtime to give the Vikings their first MCT title. The contest was a grueling 3-hour competition that was among the most exciting during the overtime period. Former major league baseball standout Joe Orsulak was the winning goalie for the Vikings. 1980 - Chatham Twp. 0, Madison 0 For the only time in the history of the tournament a team was awarded the title on the basis of a 6-3 corner kick advantage. The teams went through 80 minutes of regulation play and 30 minutes of no goalie overtime before the decision was reached. Madison, a strong defensive team, did not allow a goal in four tournament games. It was the Gladiators third MCT win under a third different coach. 1981 - Morris Knolls 2, Chatham Borough 0 Fourth-quarter goals by Tom Young and Scott Anderson propelled the Golden Eagles to their first MCT title. Backup goalkeeper Al Foss stopped a penalty shot with two minutes left to shut the door. Semifinals: Chatham Borough 3, Randolph 2 Morris Knolls 2, Madison 0
1982 - Madison 4, Mendham 1 A gutsy effort by Greg Polo, who played with a heavy limp after sustaining a knee injury early in the game, lifted the Dodgers to their first MCT title. Polo scored the second goal which turned the momentum around. Chuck Lindner, Paul Dean and MVP Chris Harris added goals for the Dodgers. Semifinals: Madison 3, Morris Catholic 1 Mendham 2, Randolph 1
1983 - Chatham Twp. 1, West Morris 1 For the first time in tournament history, a co-championship was allowed in the tournament. Highlanders' Joel Cain chipped the ball in just 5:07 in the game to spot West Morris a 1-0 edge. Colin Hackett's running header six minutes into the second quarter tied it for good at 1-1. 1984 - Morris Knolls 3, Randolph 0 For the first time in tournament history, the top two seeds reached the finals. Senior Doug Karet scored a hat trick in a driving rainstorm to give the second-seeded Golden Eagles a stunning victory that was tinged in sadness. Morris Knolls dedicated the game to John Bruno, a teammate who was killed in a car accident the year before. Semifinals: Randolph 4, Madison 3 Morris Knolls 1, West Morris 0
1985 - Randolph 2, Pequannock 0 The Rams victory ended sixth-seeded Pequannock's improbably march to the title and earned the school its first MCT soccer title. Strong play by Jim Zepp and goals by Treven Ayers and Chris Bostrum fueled the 22-1 Rams victory. The Rams outshot Pequannock 25-2. 1986 - Morris Knolls 2, Randolph 1 Senior striker Dave Mueller's goal off a cross from Scott Berth at 5:32 of the third quarter was the game-winner in the Golden Eagles victory. It was an ugly, physical game which included two players being ejected for fighting in the cold, rainy weather. Russ Craney also scored for Morris Knolls. Mike Freeman scored for Randolph. 1987 - Chatham Twp. 2, West Morris 1 Second-half goals from Mark Doherty and Jeff Kline gave the Gladiators a come-from-behind victory and their fifth and last tournament title. 1988 - Parsippany Hills 3, Chatham 3 Vikings' Edwin Baracaldo scored with 2:37 left in regulation to force the second tournament co-championship. 1989 - Parsippany Hills 3, West Morris 0 After being a co-champ the year before, the Vikings won it outright. Zach Wright had two goals and Jay DiBlasi had another for Parsippany Hills. 1990 - Morristown 5, Chatham 1 Andres Torres and Dominick Alberto scored two goals apiece to give Morristown its first MCT title. Mike Beach also scored for Morristown which had offensive explosions in the second and fourth quarters. Bill Walsh, then a freshman, had the only goal for Chatham. 1991 - Randolph 2, Parsippany Hills 1 OT The Rams, seeded 14th, were the biggest surprise in tournament full of upsets. Rams pulled shocking overtime upsets against Delbarton, Butler and Morristown (two of them by shootout) to reach tournament final. Sophomore midfielder Mike Clatterbuck scored with 6:45 remaining in the second overtime to give the Rams their first title. Goalkeeper Dan Heuer was named MVP. 1992 - Mendham 1, Dover 0 Christian Battaglia's goal off a pass from Casey Strange with 16:07 left in the first half provided the only scoring.The Minutemen won their second title ever by beating conference rival Dover. It was the third time they had beaten them that year. The game signalled a resurgence of the Dover program which was disbanded at one time. Semifinals: Dover 3, West Morris 1 Mendham 1, Delbarton 0
1993 - Chatham 3, Hanover Park 2 Game was a showcase for two of the better finishers in county history - Chatham's Bill Walsh and Hanover Park's tandem of Jake Edwards and Chris Martinovic. 1994 - Morristown 3, Morris Catholic 1 Ismael Bedoya, Jason Szobota and Ralph Gesualdo scored goals for a talented Morristown team to help the Colonials to their second title. 1996 Randolph 1, West Morris 0 Bob Von Bremen's goal off a direct kick from Steve Squillario with 6:01 provided Rams with a victory over the 11th-seeded Highlanders. 1997 Delbarton 1, Morris Catholic 0 Dave DeLuca, now a senior, scores the second game-winning MCT goal to give the Green Wave its second title. He scored at 5:20 of the first half and Delbarton held on to win. Peter Summa had eight saves to gain the shutout for Delbarton. 1998 Chatham 2, West Morris 0 Goals by Dave Walsh and Karl Thoenessen provided the difference for the dominating Cougars who won on their own home field. Goalkeeper R.J. 1999 Bayley-Ellard 2, Chatham 1 The Bishops had a magical run to capture their first MCT title. Sergio Zabala scored the game winner and defender Ron Polye earned MVP honors to lift the sixth-seeded Madison school to the title. Semifinals Chatham 2, Morris Catholic 0 Bayley-Ellard 3, Mendham 1

2001 Morris Catholic 4, Chatham 0 Senior midfielder John Weed scored the game-winner with 11 minutes left in the first half. Sophomore Pino Tubito, and juniors Nando Iannacone and Adam Ciklic also scored for Morris Catholic. The Crusaders have not lost a match since the 1999 MCT semifinals, posting a 52-0-2 record over that span. 2003Delbarton 4, Whippany Park 0 Senior sweeper Neil McNulty's long free kick slipped through Whippany Park goalkeeper Joe Gogel's fingertips, and senior midfielder Bobby Swift added a PK four minutes later -- all in the last five minutes of the first half. 2004Delbarton 2, Morris Catholic 2 (2 OT) Delbarton senior midfielder Will Lee, the two-time Morris County Player of the Year, scored just 10 minutes into the match. Junior midfielder Connor Esposito added a second Green Wave goal with 17 minutes left. Morris Catholic sophomore Bryan Machado's flying header ended Delbarton's 883-minute MCT scoreless streak. The Green Wave had not allowed a goal since a quarterfinal against Montville in October 2002. Crusaders senior sweeper David Tirri tied the game on a PK with 48 seconds left. 2007Morris Hills 1, Delbarton 0 Senior midfielder Rodrigo Santiago scored the lone goal for 11th-seeded Morris Hills, bending a free kick around a three-man Delbarton wall with just over 11 minutes to go in the match. Nick Cerrone, a 6-foot-3 sophomore, wound up starting and earning the fourth-seeded Green Wave's shutout after regular goalkeeper Craig Melcher suffered a concussion in a NHC match with Madison on Thursday. 2009Madison 0, Montville 0 Fourth-seeded Montville had scored 57 goals in 18 matches coming into the final. The Mustangs outshot Madison, 17-12. Freshman goalkeeper Matt Gilbert made nine saves to earn his 14th shutout for sixth-seeded Madison. Gilbert did not allow a goal for the entire MCT, blanking Kinnelon, No. 3 Chatham and second-seeded Whippany Park in addition to Montville. Dodgers midfielder Jonathan Aguirre wore No. 21, which had belonged to Ben Wieler, a former Madison captain who died in September following surgery to remove a brain tumor. 2011Chatham 1, Delbarton 0 Sophomore David Gill scored the lone goal, making a diagonal run onto a cross from senior Trip Burke in the sixth minute. Chatham goalkeeper Brian Petrunik, who had nine saves in the final, was the tournament MVP. The match was originally scheduled for Oct. 29, but was moved twice due to a snowstorm and because Delbarton had advanced to the Non-Public A state final. It was played in a downpour on a Wednesday night at Roxbury, a week after Chatham had lost to Scotch Plains in the North 2 Group III final. Conor Kelly and Matt DiVite tallied for Delbarton, which picked up its lone loss in the MCT final – and went on to win the NJSIAA Non-Public A championship. 2016Randolph 1, Delbarton 0 (3-2 PK) Randolph senior goalkeeper Evan Miele was named MCT MVP after making 15 saves, including two penalty kicks. Delbarton sophomore Kyle Swift, a Morristown resident, had four saves. Semis: Randolph 2, Morristown 1 (OT): Morristown gave up an own goal with 1:09 remaining, and another 1:48 into overtime. Delbarton 2, Mendham 0: John Gerard scored less than 10 minutes in, and Steven Hadley added an insurance goal three minutes into the second half. The Green Wave has won 15 straight MCT matches, dating back to a 3-2 OT loss to Roxbury in the 2012 final.
2017Delbarton 2, Mendham 1 Will Stroud scored the game-winning goal on a rebound off a corner with 24 seconds to play. Stroud, a Chester resident, was named the MCT MVP, the first of his four soccer-playing brothers to do so. Stephen Ryan converted a penalty kick for Mendham's goal midway through the second half. Semis: Mendham 4, Morris Knolls 0: Sophomore Jack Journeycake filled in for injured Ryan Carkhuff in Mendham's goal, his second varsity start. Delbarton 1, Dover 0: Delbarton senior Ethan Fabricant scored midway through the first half.
2018Delbarton 1, Parsippany Hills 0 Brendan McSorley scored the lone goal in the MCT championship off a cross from Trey Donovan with 12:33 left in the first half. McSorley, who leads the Green Wave with nine goals and eight assists, was named the Otto Hass Most Valuable Player of the MCT. 2019 Delbarton 3, Montville 2 Brendan Mc Sorley scored to give Delbarton its third straight Morris County Tournament Championship. McSorley scored the game winning goal for the second straight year to win the title and was named Player of the Tournament and Player of the Year for the County as well.
